The Penobscot River Trails are an incredible resource with beautiful, well maintained trails that are accessible year round. Bike or walk along the river in the warm seasons and cross country ski or snow shoe in the winter. Warming huts along the way with fireplaces, picnic tables and bathrooms. What more could you need? Views of Mt. Katahdin from some areas....we also saw a small black bear last summer on the return trail along the carriage trails.
