Relatively new Asian fusion type food including sushi which is all totally delicious. A bit more expensive but makes for a different dining experience

Cafe Black
21 High StVery central. Good for brunch and if you are in town shopping.
Recently opened in an old 16th century building. Fine dining with chef Dameon Clark. More pricey but good for a special night. Cocktails on the balcony overlooking the Town meadows are a nice touch too if you wanted to go all out. Make sure you book in advance!

We are blessed to have this large green space with the river curving through it in our town. Another place that is lovely for a walk and it is literally right on your doorstep!

The well known reservoir with its tiny church at Normanton spans 19 miles around the perimeter (add on another 6 if you include the Hambleton peninsula!). You can hire bikes here, sail, or just walk along the beautiful pathways and stop off at one of the cafes en route. Rutland water has its own Osprey project at Lyndon Reserve - sitting nestled in one of the many "hideouts" there is so relaxing and the scenery just stunning!
The Finches Arms at Hambleton is a great spot to have a meal and enjoy the setting.

Friday Market
This is a popular market which takes over the pedestrianised High Street and neighbouring Broad Street every Friday. Food, gifts, clothes, textiles etc - worth a browse. A short walk direct from the house.
