Sightseeing
The I-20 Wildlife Preserve is a 100-acre riparian forest campus in Midland, Texas. It is a wild space – not a park – managed by a nonprofit organization. The 86-acre urban playa lake is the highlight of the wetlands, floodplain thickets, and prairie grasslands – providing abundant avian, wildlife, and aquatic habitat. The urban playa at the Preserve is a treasured ecotourism destination of regional significance and a science education resource of the Permian Basin.
West Texas can be pretty rough sometimes. With the exception of the beautiful sunsets and sunrises, it is mostly just flat and dusty.
But this place is Amazing! There is so much to see! And when you are there you can almost forget your in the desert.
The I-20 Wildlife Preserve is absolutely a must see if you have some spare time! This place is gorgeous!

Traveler advice
Getting around
Loop 250 and Business 20 are your friend.
Loop 250 and Business 20 are great for getting any where across town. Midland Dr., Midkiff Rd., Garfield, A St. and Lamesa Rd. are all main streets running north to south.
Wadley, Andrews, and Business 20 are all your main roads running West to East.
I avoid I-20 as much as possible. (There tend to be a lot more crazy drivers on I-20.)
Business 20 and 191 are the best for getting over to Odessa. Business 20 if going to the center of Odessa or south side and 191 for anything on the north side of Odessa.
