Many boats in Playa Angelito for charter. Go fishing for half day, go whale watching or just enjoy watching the dolphins jumping all around you. Also many tortugas to see. I myself think that this is one of the best things to do while in Puerto Escondido. We can set you up with a captain for sightseeing of fishing.

Situated just down from Playa Zicatela, at the southeast end of the stretch of sand, is La Punta. If you want all the atmosphere of Zicatela but with waves safer for newbies, this is the beach for you. La Punta is a great area to eat, walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. Hipsterpart of Puerto Escondido. Definitely check it out.

Closest beach to Altavista. A 5 minute walk from your condo to the quietest beaches in Puerto Escondido. Miles and miles of gorgeous beach.
Walk to the south to the Colotepec River. The river empties into the ocean here in La Barra. This environmentally friendly wetland is ideal for bird watching and wildlife viewing. But Watch-Out! You might see a crocodile!! The is an animal sanctuary on the paved road that I haven't checked out yet. This is the website.

Heading back to the south you can walk to Zicatela. Stop for a cold drink in La Punta. There is also a Turtle Sanctuary with nightly baby turtle releases at sunset. You can go on your own or with an eco tour company.
