Eating out in Glenridding

Food scene

Here are a few places to eat which are all within a few minutes walk of our house.
This is a great place for breakfast and is only 2 doors away from us! The cakes and bread are made by the owners on site each morning so it is a good quality place to eat. It opens at 9am peak season and 10am over the winter months and closes late afternoon. It is closed in January and a couple of weeks off in low season.

This cafe has a wide variety of food, with breakfast items from 11am through to dinners which include options for vegans and vegetarians. It is almost directly opposite us across the beck so is a few minutes walk away.

This place has pub food such as bugers, fish and chips and steak etc and is part of a lovely, spacious hotel complex. There is a great vegetarian/vegan menu at the Lake View Restaurant which is also part of the Inn on the Lake Hotel. The hotel is a few minutes from our house, just off the main road through the village.

We like this place for its pizzas which are hand made on the premises and have plenty of toppings. They do take away as an option which you could take down to the lake side and enjoy as a picnic on the beach. Apparently this bar keeps the best beer in town. Walk to the start of our road and the bar is behind the Glenridding Hotel opposite you.

This pub is in a great location and is best enjoyed at the end of a walk up Helvellyn when you might be in need of some good pub food and a long drink. When the outside garden is open you can enjoy lovely views of the fells surrounding the village. To walk from our house, go across the bridge over the beck, past the bus stop, next left then walk up that road until you get to the pub on the right hand side.
