I'm partial to this place because I work here, but if you're looking to do more than sit and sip on a beer (or maybe get warmed up for a night on Bourbon), then I'd recommend you stop here. Plus, I may be able to convince my boss to give you an employee discount! (no promises though lol)

Simply gorgeous. Take a walk by the lake area by NOMA, sit on a porch swing at the great lawn, or check out the botanical/statue gardens. Great big oaks tree are scattered throughout the park!

Great live music almost every night! I recommend Bamboula's for the free cover, the Blue Nile for a great balcony, as well as Spotted Cat.

If you want to get away from the french quarter, take the streetcar up St. Charles, or simply drive yourself anywhere on this gorgeous st. It'll take you by Audobon Park & Zoo, as well as past tons of restaurants and bars.
