Traveler advice
Don't miss
Cades Cove
This is beyond the best part of the Great Smokey National Park. Be sure to make this the first place to visit with the family. It is a car ride through the park and allow for 4 hours from Pigeon forge to getting to Cades Cove, driving though the park, and a return trip back to the city.
Traveling with kids
Tennessee Wildlife
You will encounter wildlife, and do not approach any animal. Bears do frequent Wears Valley and at times the downtown area. The further west you get from Wears Valley and there’s a chance of encountering deer, and beware of bucks. The male deer can be aggressive.
What to pack
Bring comfortable sneakers
Highly recommend comfortable sneakers and in the winter the ground can get soggy, so possibly boats in the winter.
Getting around
Rent a Car!
Uber and Lyft are not helpful unless traveling from Tyson Airport to Pigeon Forge but make sure to have a rental car.
What to pack
Get Bottled Water !
Kroger is located on the corner of the Parkway and 321. Make sure to get some bottle water. The water is chlorinated to treat the city and well water and we do not recommend drinking it.
Traveling with kids
Keep an eye on Children!!!!
Cabins in Tennessee typically have multiple floors and decks and located on mountain sides. Injuries are common and it is the responsibility of adults to beware of children’s safety.
