It is wonderful is for biking, walking, running, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Please note that this trail does not allow motorized vehicles. It runs for nearly 14 miles along an old railroad corridor between Amery and Dresser, passing through the towns of Deronda, Wanderoos and Nye.
The trail is within walking distance of The Lazy Bear. To access it, take a right out of the driveway. At the stop sign, take a left on County Road F and walk east about 1/8 mile, where you will see the gravel trail. Going left on the trail will go into downtown Amery - roughly a 50-minute walk. Taking a right on the trail will take you towards Deronda, Wanderoos and Nye. To start at one end of the trail, you could drive to Amery and there is a parking lot at the eastern trailhead between Harriman Avenue and Keller Avenue.

A very nice park on Lake Wapogasset which was newly renovated in 2007. It offers a 24 hour boat landing (fee or sticker required – see park rules upon entry), children’s playground, handicap accessible fishing piers, picnic shelters, picnic tables, walking trail and restrooms (flush toilets 😊).

Marina located on Lake Wapogasset, which is connected to our lake, Bear Trap Lake. The marina offers lakefront gas (only place to get fuel on the lakes), candy, pop, ice cream, beer, gifts, Lake Wapogasset/Bear Trap apparel/souveniers. Can be reached by boat from the lake by crossing over from Bear Trap into Wapogasset though the narrows (see lake maps included in this book). The marina is located on the east side of Wapogasset.

We LOVE this place! Renovated barn in beautiful setting with drinks, great food, a nice patio with a bon fire pit and a few sets of bean bag boards. Sometimes they have events…keep an eye on their Facebook page for current info. Try the brisket nachos – they’re our favorite thing on the menu! Pizza is also very good. Honestly, we’ve never had anything we didn’t like here. Enjoy! 😊
