Hikes

We have provided some easier hikes. Please do your own research to make sure these trails are right for you. You can do this with apps like All Trails and by using the group Adirondack Trail Conditions. Make sure you are prepared for the elements with warm/dry clothing, a lighting source, food, and water.

The most popular hike in the Adirondacks and one of the 46 High Peaks. It is the perfect hike to embark on alone or with a small group because you will always be encountering other hikers. Don't let its popularity fool you though, it is quite steep so make sure you are ready for a big workout.

A great hike that is right around the corner. If you were looking to make this an easy hike you can stop at the first lookout point which is a false summit. If you are feeling brave you can continue to walk along the crest of the mountain until you get to the summit! This is not considered a High Peak but it is definitely a local favorite.

Traveler advice

Getting around

Driving is the only way to get from place to place

You will need a car to navigate the Adirondack Park. Make sure that you keep your car charged or at least half a tank because gas stations can be far apart.
Book before you go

You will need to make reservations

You will enjoy a more comfortable and stress-free trip if you make reservations in advance. The summer and winter can be very busy in the area and many restaurants and activities will be booked. To save yourself trouble book at least three days in advance.
What to pack

Make sure to bring clothing for all weather conditions

The weather in the Adirondack Park is very unreliable! Be sure to expect anything from rain, to sun, to blizzards, and expect bugs.
