A nice place to eat. John loves their seafood pasta. Audrey can’t pass up the crabcakes (loaded with crab, not a lot of filler).

Ruth's has been a part of Hartsville life for more than 75 years! Great sandwiches, hamburgers and hotdogs. Their speciality is a Full Hot with Chili, Cheese, and Gravy - an open-faced sandwich loaded with meat, chili, cheese, fries, and lots of gravy.

Bow Thai downtown is a really good Thai place. Get the Thai tea, but be careful challenging them to make your dish spicy!

Yogi Bear Honey Fried Chicken is the last in a line of fried chicken restaurants. The batter is infused with honey and absolutely delicious. It is Yogi Bear's place so be ready to order two-piece Boo-Boo Baskets, three-piece Cindy Bear Baskets, nine-piece Picnic Baskets, or 21-piece Jellystone Baskets, along with sides and desserts.

Vintage Craft Beer and Wine Boutique on College behind the main downtown buildings has plenty to tempt the beer snob in you as well as lots of outdoor seating. You can get craft beers to go or sit and sip from a selection from one of their taps. Bring a growler and get the best of both. The selection is out of this world!

For those that want more of a casual, honky-tonk experience, there’s J. Michaels. The drinks are cold, the folks are friendly, and there’s usually live music on the porch on the weekends.

Our favorite place to be! Located in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina on a former 19th-century plantation, Kalmia Gardens is a 35-acre private botanical garden with lush landscaping and nature trails. We love wandering over the boardwalks, down by Black Creek. Believe it or not, the Gardens and the surrounding donated nature preserve only slightly less ground than Central Park in NY! Open dawn to dusk every day and pets on a leash are welcome.
