Beaches
Take a walk down the hill to Grinnell's Beach for a swim or a picnic, and enjoy the view, especially at sunset. The recently restored bridge abutment is all that remains of the old Stone Bridge that used to span the Sakonnet River and carry travelers to Island Park in Portsmouth. Severely damaged by hurricane Carol in 1954, the Stone Bridge was replaced by the Sakonnet River Bridge in 1956.
