Hunter and Tannersville are about 25 min drive - you can take Route 42 through Lexington or Rt 214 through Phoenicia - both are pretty drives and about equal so its nice to do the loop if you're going there . Hunter is known for skiing but theres also a movie theatre and a few shops and restaurants . Tannersville has more restaurants ( Maggies and Mamas Boy are excellent and Last Chance Cheese is also really fun ) Outside of Tannersville is North South Lake which has swimming , camping and hiking , as well as the Hathaway trails which are great mountain biking . There is also the arboretum outside of Tannersville.
