For the best views of the House of Parliament & Big Ben walk over Westminster Bridge on the right hand side. As you get to the other side walk down the steps to your right and along the riverside path towards Lambeth Bridge. You will soon be away from the crowds & get the best views. Once there an alternate way back is over Lambeth Bridge & into Victoria Tower Gardens. From there return via Great College Street. At the top pass through the arches on your right into Deans Yard, one of London's hidden gems.

Great place to go if you need a break from the crowds. The walk along the river on the north side of the park is a local favourite. Go to the North East corner along the riverside path and pass under Chelsea Bridge to get to the bars and restaurants at Battersea Power Station.

Can be busy with tourists but if you choose a quiet time in the morning or evening a walk around the Serpentine is a great way to spend an hour of your visit. The Princess Diana memorial is also here.
Kensington Palace and The Albert Memorial are very close in the adjacent Kensington Gardens.
If you walk from the flat then perhaps go via Hyde Park Corner to see the Wellington Arch and Apsley House. When Apsley House was built it was the first building in London if you approached from the West. Hence it has surely the world's coolest address, No. 1 London.
