Truly a diamond in the rough! A discerning chocolate lover's dream. Tucked on a one way part of Kilauea Ave, the hand dipped 100% Hawaiian chocolates are fabulous. The chocolate dipped shortbreads are over the top and the 1.5 oz bars are delicious. Try the toasted coconut or the Cacao nibs with espresso beans. YUM!

10 minutes up hill towards Volcano this family run coffee farm offers a glimpse into the Coffee industry in Hawaii. Set on 15 or so acres, they have tours of the coffee trees and the entire coffee production process (reservations in advance)or simply visit the store and ask for the abbreviated "tour" and then taste and pick up some fantastic local (and all over the Island) coffee beans. Check and see if they have any of the roasted peaberry coffee beans, so smooth and rich.

This is the best of the best on the east side the island (even if plants aren't your obsession ). A nice "stroll" through a tropical forest of plants, trees, flowers etc. Ends up with a stunning view of the ocean.
