This beach is VA's big Kahuna of beaches. From my place, the commute can be 45 mins without traffic but up to 1 hr or 1.5 hr with traffic because of the tunnel. This beach offers your standard restroom and rinsing facilities and a parking garage that is a walkable distance to the beach. There are restaurants on the boardwalk, the tourist scene, lots of people, bikes and watercrafts available for rental, nightlife and more. For a sweet treat, you must try Duck Donuts!

About 10 min drive away. This beach is quiet, remote and off the beaten path. It is very serene, and I love going here when I want to get away and enjoy a quiet nap on the beach. Please note, you will need to park your car on State Park Dr, and walk about a quarter mile to get to the water, but dont feel overwhelmed as it is a beautiful walk. Please note also, this beach does not offer any restrooms, facilities, restaurants, etc. Just peace and quiet.

Paradise Ocean Club is about 10 mins away from my place. Seasonal location open from late May until 1st week of September. Please note, this place requires an entry fee! I believe it is $5 - $10 per adult based on off and on-peak times. Once you are in, there is a water park for the kids, cabanas for rent, a bar where you CAN take your drinks on to the beach and a small restaurant. The beach portion also offers watercrafts for rent.

Night Owl or Early Flight Out? Stop at Wawa's which is about 3 mins away and open 24/7! You can fill up your gas tank and a get bite to eat. I prefer Wawa's because they offer more healthy and fresh options of food rather than at 7-11. They also sell milkshakes or alcohol if you need those as well.
