Sightseeing
Day trip idea: Go to Haarlem, rent bikes there, bike through Zuid-Kennemerland national park to the sea (Use Parnassia strand as an orienteer).
In the park you might see wild cows, deers and foxes if you are lucky. Really beautiful views, famous Dutch dunes. Afterwards you can walk along the sea or even swim!
I recommend to stop by "Proeflokaal Bregje Bloemendaal aan Zee" after your trip for lunch or dinner

When weather is good, take a blanket, beers or wine and some snacks and go to the Oosterpark for a picnic. Many Amsterdammers do the same :)
It's 2 min walk from the apartment.

Traveler advice
Getting around
Buy OV-chipkaart if you plan to use public transport a lot
It cost 7 eur, but gives 1 eur discount on trains and more reasonable pricing for metro and trams. You can get it at any train station, also in Schiphol in NS ticket offices
Getting around
Use P+R parkings
Public transport works very well in the Netherlands and usually faster than a car. Parking is very expensive, better to park your car outside of the city and get around by public transport.
Information about P+R: https://www.amsterdam.nl/en/parking/park-ride/
What to pack
Bring a raincoat
Umbrellas do not help, rain and wind is a typical Dutch weather
