Traveler advice
Getting around
Bring your own set of wheels!
Litchfield County has a lot to offer, but unfortunately public transit isn't on the menu.
Book before you go
Arethusa al Tovolo
On the short list of best restaurants in CT and featuring ingredients direct from their farm - just a mile away from the guest cottage - in the heart of Bantam. Make dinner reservations in advance.
What to pack
Insect Repellent
Nature is beautiful and all around... so are the bugs. Our frogs, toads, bats and dragonflies can only do so much. Don't forget to pack insect repellent.
Ways to save
Bantam Market
While the guest cottage doesn't have a kitchen, there is a minibar fridge and Microwave. Swing by the Bantam Market to stock up on yogurts for breakfast and craft beer for an evening nightcap and lower your restaurant expenses.
Don't miss
West Cornwall Red Covered Bridge
The covered bridge all New England towns wish they had. Charming town too. Check out Michael Trapp antiques if the shop is open.
Customs and culture
Terrible cell phone service
Download Offline Google Maps for the area in advance. Many areas of Litchfield County have no cell service. It does however make it easier to unplug and unwind!
