City/town information

Besides the famous motorcycle events in the summer, Laconia is a nice little town on lakes and en route to more northern parts of NH (i.e. Lake Winnipesaukee and the White Mountains). It also acts as a hub for heading out to other parts of NH (Tilton, Belmont, Gilford, etc.).

As the capitol of NH, it offers more "civilization" than the towns surrounding Gilmanton. It's 30 minutes away which is close enough but also you can be removed from it, if you want to be.

It offers breweries, ocean front viewing, great little restaurants and cafes, and just a great town to walk around.

Sort of the gateway to Lake Winnipesaukee and the Lakes Region in general. The city itself has a lot of touristy things and beaches, boats, and other outdoorsy things.
