City/town information
Folly Beach is the closest beach to the Shark Tooth Shanty and is loaded with shells and other treasures. Many restaurants and bars to choose from for whatever mood you are in. Folly has a chill, relaxed vibe to it, so keep your fancy clothes for downtown Charleston as there is no need to dress up! If you are planning on Folly for your day and your stay is within the months April-Sept, I'd say head that way by 9:00 AM...maybe 10:00AM but that may be pushing it. Traffic can be a beast!
Free Parking: YES. you can park for free on Folly. See photos for correct and incorrect parking.
The scoop:
1)Don't block someone's driveway
2)Have all four tires off the road
3)Aren't near a sign that says "No parking this side of the street"
We rarely pay to park out at Folly. Again, go early to grab a spot, or later when beach goers have left for the day.
Paid Parking: There are self pay lots along beach access points. These are very convenient but usually fill up quickly. Accepts credit cards.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. from May 1 to September 30. At all other times they must be leashed and under control.
