4350 North US Highway 259This is the stream and waterfall shown in the photos in our listing. The more rain that has fallen, the more significant the stream and waterfall are - but that also makes navigating to there a bit more tricky due to the mud.
It’s located off of Golf Creek Road. If you head north on 259 from the cabin, you’ll make a right turn onto Golf Creek Rd after approximately 2 miles. [Across the street from Golf Creek Rd you’ll see a business called Whip Poor Will Cabins Resort]. Drive for about a mile, you’ll see a turn out parking area on your right. Park there, cross the street and take the wide trail. You’ll cross the stream at one point, but keep walking. When the trail comes to a “Y”, you’ll see an orange marker on a tree on the right side [this is for the four wheelers], take the left at the Y, at this point you’ll start to hear the waterfall. You’ll come to another “Y”, take the right at that one - though if you go left you’ll end up at the stream, but further up from the waterfall. It’s an easy and short hike but very lovely to see. We were told that this particular waterfall is where locals go to get away - so it’s not widely known. Who knows if that’s true or not (:
