Fun and Unique Shopping
Fulks Run Grocery, which isn't exactly a "grocery," but a long-standing, unique store that's about 15 minutes from us. It's home to the locally famous (and delicious) Turner Country Ham---quite the Valley Tradition. Often on Fridays they serve up Fried Country Ham Sandwiches -- don't miss them!
From their website: "Fulks Run Grocery, built-in 1949
by Garnett and Lena Turner, is the Home of Turner
Hams. We are a family-owned and operated business
in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We’ve been
curing Country Hams in the traditional manner for
over 50 years. Using our Great Grandfather Webster
Turner’s recipe and the finest ingredients, you’ll
quickly see and taste why our ham is a favorite at
picnics, holidays, and family gatherings. While ham is
our focus at Fulks Run Grocery, we are more than just
“the ham store.” We also carry a full line of jams, jellies,
honey, syrups, and all kinds of handmade wooden
utensils. We also have the largest collection of Polish
Pottery in the Valley. After strolling around our aisles,
you’ll think you’ve walked back into your
Grandmothers kitchen. We look forward to serving
you." - www.fulksrungrocery.com
