Grocery shopping
The general store for this neighborhood and just around the corner (1-2 min walk), you drive past it on the way here. It’s a bit more expensive than the big supermarkets, but with an excellent selection of food items.

This is, as the name implies, a pizza place. It’s fairly new and according to the owners the inspiration for the style comes from New York. The oven they use isn’t a fire stove oven, rather an electric version based on those ovens. The pizzas there are excellent!

The bakery across the street from Melabúðin. It’s a sourdough bakery, with high quality bread and other baked goods.
If you would like to try some Icelandic sweets from them, we recommend buying “vínarbrauð”. During the weekend they have a selection of buns (cinnamon, vanilla, blueberry, etc) that we also recommend.
