Calla lilies, gold thread, carnivorous sundew and pitcher plants, native orchids, bog rosemary, Labrador tea and shrubs such as leather leaf, sheep laurel and swamp azalea are among the many plants in the bog. Black bear, river otter, bobcat, beavers, porcupines, minks, wild turkey, snowshoe hares and a host of birds call the bog home. Regularly scheduled walks are conducted by the Monroe County Environmental Education Center. Public access is permitted on the North Wood and Fern Ridge trails. Operated by the Nature Conservancy and the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center.

Two miles of hiking trails, bridges, and walkways provide easy access to Pennel Falls, the 100-ft. high Main Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Lower Gorge Falls, Laurel Glen Falls, and three unnamed falls. There’s also the Bushkill Falls Mining Co. Maze. Owned since 1904 by the Charles E. Peters Estate, Bushkill Falls covers 300 acres populated by hemlock, pine, oak, maple, beech and birch trees, and is a birders delight.
Hours depend on season, day of week, and weather. Generally, from 9 a.m. to close which can be 4, 5, 6, or 7 p.m.
