Drinks

Beerlover? Here you can get many types of fancy Icelandic beer. I personally love this place. Not too load music so nice to sit down with a friend or yourself. They don't serve food here I think other than chips and so on.

Cocktails? This place has them. Here you sit down at tables like at a restaurant and order cocktails from a menu or request. Nice cozy place to get a little tipsy and talk.

If one likes beer and the other likes cocktails here you split the difference. Fun pub to grab a drink and there is often local people singing here. There is happy hour between 12-7 pm. You can also book a private karaoke room here for 9.500 ISK (60 EUR / 70 USD / 50 GBP) per hour. That's on their website.

Relax

Iceland has geothermal hot springs of water in the ground. So naturally, we love to use all that hot water to go to pools. Here you have many hot tubs, saltwater hot tub, steam bath, swimming pool and of course a slip&slide. Laugardalslaug is one of many pools in the area but probably the most iconic. Bring swimsuit and a towel! (though you can rent it there) The cost per person is around 1.500 ISK (10 EUR/ 12 USD/ 9 GBP)

You have probably heard of the Blue Lagoon. The Sky Lagoon is a more modern and fresh lagoon inside the city. This is not a pool, this is a SPA. Drinks are served in the pool (also in Blue Lagoon). There two Lagoons cost around the same ca. 7.000 ISK (45 EUR / 50 USD / 40 GBP)

Food scene

Here I'd go for a fancy dinner. Nice three course meals. The red wine here and the servants are great. Modern rock-cave-like place.

Best fish that is caught the same day and more fresh than you could dream of. This place is also a hidden pearl in Hafnarfjörður, 15 min drive from the apartment, so there are mostly locals there.

You can fly over the most beautiful places in Iceland in a simulator. This is like a 5D short cinema. Takes around 1 hour in and out. Costs around 5.000 ISK (35 EUR / 40 USD / 30 GBP)

Traveler advice

Getting around

"Hopp" electric scooters are epic to get around

If it's not super snowy then I'd download the "Hopp" app and find the nearest electric scooters. They can be parked anywhere (reasonable).
