Sightseeing
Here are some fun places to visit while in the area.
Although this isn't a National Park, I'm not sure why it isn't. Truly a beautiful area. Some great hikes, and if you are into rock climbing, there are great climbs here, as well. This is our daughter's favorite place to climb.

Take a nice little side trip to the ghost town of Grafton. You’ll gain an appreciation for some of the hardships people faced as the settled this area.
It is also where the bicycle scene in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” was filmed.
You can go in and explore most of the buildings.
FYI: the road in is a dirt road. Be cautious on rainy days or you could get stuck.

This little jewel is the perfect place for paddleboarding and kayaking. You can easily rent a kayak or SUP (stand up paddleboard) right on the beach. The water is beautiful and this place is usually not crowded. The scenery is fantastic.

Great park! Although it is an amazing playground for children with different abilities, it's a really fun park for everyone! There's a little train you can ride, with a small tunnel and various "dinosaurs" to spot along the way. And lots of fun equipment from swings and slides to treehouses and a splash pad. Our grandchildren love going here!
It’s free and open every day! (Although the train doesn't operate on Sundays, just FYI.) The park is located inside of Tonaquint Park at 1851 S Dixie Dr. in St George.

This is a moderately difficult hike, but not long (less than 2miles), so most children 5 yr old and older would be able to manage it. Located outside of Leeds, in the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, there is beautiful scenery and the unique Babylon Arch!

Located in LaVerkin, this trail has two entrances, including one that’s just one street over from the house! It’s convenient, good for families, has some spooky old mining buildings and a rope swing next to the river. Be sure to check it out!
