Christmas Markets in Vienna

Sehenswürdigkeiten

The Christmas Market in front of the city hall is the most commercial one in Vienna. The trees in the park are nicely decorated and it is a classical view. However, it is rather touristy with busses of people arriving so Viennese people usually do not go there.

In the campus of the university there is a christmas village of little huts which is especially nice if there is snow in the city. You can shop arts an crafts, eat snacks and drink mulled wine. In addition you can play "Eisstockschiessen" and sometimes there are Christmas choruses performing. There are also a few attractions for children and the campus is a car-free zone.

The Spittelberger Adventmarkt is popular also among Viennese people for the many crafted things you can purchase as well as nice places to have mulled wine. There are also places to eat sweet and savoury snacks. Very nice!
