We love Topanga Beach, just 6 miles from the house. Go to the right when you hit PCH and park in the parking lot on the left or grab a spot on the street if there is one.

Malibu Beach is about 10 minutes north on the coast. The beach by the pier is fun, if you go north of the Malibu pier to sit on the sand you can watch the surfers.

You can go across the canyon and up Entrada Road and take a great hike which will lead you to Eagle Rock. Looks like an eagle flying with it's wings spread. Climb to the top and look over, there are a few little caves you can climb in. We used to sleep in them when we were kids : )

Hiking right across the street from our house is nice. Walk up Redrock Road about 1/2 of a mile and it will turn to dirt and the local state park. Caves and fossils!

If you drive North on Old Topanga about 1.5 miles, when you get to the top of the hill, you can park and take the fire break road. This is where the fire from June of 2016 was. It's about 3.4 miles to the end and back. Crazy to see the damage.
