Our favorite wine bar, great atmosphere, and wonderful people.
Favorite beer brewed in AVL, which is saying something since we have more beer brewed per capita than anywhere in US! Try the Iron Rail if you like hops. Yum!

They reintroduced elk to the park and it is fun to take the kids to see them. There are places to hike, picnic and wonder around searching for the gigantic animals. Don't feed them people -- they are wild.

Can rent canoes and kayaks to go down the river. Some spots are more exciting than others so know where you put in and take out. Near AVL, the river is very gentle.
