Permian Basin is the 3rd largest producer of oil in the world. We are known for all of the outdoor activities we have here. Hiking in Guadalupe mountains. Visiting Brantley lake just north of town. Carlsbad Caverns 20 miles south of town. Was the home of Pat Garret the lawman who pursued famous outlaw Billy The Kid. Beautiful lights of our very own X-Mas on the Pecos River boat tours. Sitting Bull Falls just north of town. Plenty of great fishing boating and swimming in the summer. Our own local water park. 67 miles west is Zia Park Black Gold Casino Racetrack and Hotel. McKitrick Canyon, Guadalupe Peak and Pecos River walk are just a few of the places to visit while staying in Carlsbad. The historic landmark known as the Trinity Resturaunt & Hotel. Also have the living desert state park up on C-hill where you can park for a scenic view of the city of Carlsbad.

Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino in the beautiful mountains i love the smell of all the pine trees. Billy the kid racetrack and casino is fun too. the Cabins are the best place to stay. they have zip lining batting cages, horse back riding fishing and more....
