In the winter bring hiking spikes if you have them. You can do it without them but it will be much more enjoyable if you do.

Getting around

4WD recommended

Scofield gets significant amounts of snow in the winter and it’s best to have 4WD. The county does pretty good at plowing the main roads: HWY 6 and HWY 96. The cabin is on a dirt road approximately 100 meters off HWY 96. The dirt road is routinely plowed but not as frequent as the highway.
