Greater Salida Area Guide

During the spring summer and fall the following venue should have music consistently Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: Bensons, Highside, Tres Litros, Vino Salida, Soulcraft, Riverside Park. Tres Litros now has music pretty much every weekend Friday and Saturday at 7PM!

These places are the best for year-round dog friendly patios: Tres Litros, Elevation, Soul Craft, Highside. Also a great pseudo dog park is the open space between the Arkansas and S-Mountain right along the river. S-Mtn trails and pretty much every other trail in the area are unspoken off-leash as long as your dogs are friendly 😌

1. From Angel of of Shavano campground, Co Trail in either direction. 2. From Browns Creek parking lot, Co Trail and Browns Creek Trail. 3. From Chalk Cliffs parking, Co Trail South (Amazing view). 4. All of Salida Mtn Trails 5. All of Methodist Mtn Trails. 6. From Monarch Pass, CDT North. 7. From Hancock Ghost Town, CDT and CT in all directions (probably my favorite off-grid area)

For surfers and kayakers, the playpark has a variety of features for practicing and cooling off in the hot summer or Fall days.

Pizza Rio has a rooftop view of the Arkansas and has the best east coast style pizza in town. For a fully loaded amazing pizza, I recommend the Cosmic Hawaiian at Moonlight. Amica’s is excellent too but only personal size pizzas.

Pretty much everything here is amazing

Tres Litros has a great variety, quality, dog friendly patio, and well spaced indoor seating. Also a 1 min walk to the river. Occasionally live music. Elevation has amazing beer and more seating.

There is ample safe BC skiing up around Monarch Pass. Look online for details, but “Snowstake” is the local safe favorite.
