Favorite local bike shop that also serves local beer on tap! Find all your hiking, camping, and biking gear in one place. Bike rental available and mechanics on site. You can usually find a food truck parked outside for yummy bites. If you get lucky, you can catch The Velvet Cup coffee truck parked out front for a quick pick me up or fresh mini donuts.

Located up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, about a 45 minute drive that will leave you breathless! The drive up to this trail is definitely worth it! Follow directions along the Parkway and the entrance will be located to your right. Follow the road all the way until you find a small parking lot and bathrooms. Ask for the trail entrance if needed. The trail entrance may be hidden. The trail entrance is found on the right, after a gate. You should see a narrow path into the forest. You can hike this trail up on top of the Appalachian Mountain range for as long as you like - it really just goes on! Hikers have been known to hike this trail for days. A good hour or two should give you plenty of breathtaking views and enough photo opportunities to fill your memory card! This is a favorite and a must hike! Tips: - It’s always chillier up on the parkway! If it’s cold in Brevard, it’ll be colder up at this hike! Can be a bit windy too. - The state closes the Blue Ridge Parkway Parkway during winter and extreme weather so check https://www.blueridgeparkway.org before heading out.
