Food scene
Great Cajun food right in the heart of Park Circle. I worked with Jeff the owner when I was in college. He first started sharing his cuisine to Charleston out of his food truck. Local family-run business.

This is a go-to for me on those days I'm not feeling like cooking-- I can always get off the hook of cooking dinner if I dangle a Sesame Elk Burger to my husband.

Amazing Brunch- be prepared to get up early or wait for a few to get a table - but it's well worth the wait. Sit outside and enjoy a complimentary cup of Joe and just enjoy the time.

Neighborhoods
Isle of Palms is where I grew up. It is located 14 miles away. During the summer expect to sit on the connecter for a few but it is well worth the wait. There is parking at the front beach and the public park. At the park, there are showers, a playground, and lifeguards. Lots of good food over there as well.

Sullivan's Island is a hopping spot. As soon as you get over the bridge which opens up 10 minutes to the hour during the summer you will drive through a strip of locals and tourists hopping from restaurant to restaurant. Lots of good food over there as well. The little local secret is if you're trying to beach it and stay away from lots of tourists I would drive on through the restaurant buzz and head down to station 23 1/2 try and find parking and settle into the sand. If you want to check out a Catholic church enjoy 9:30 Sunday mass at Stella Maris.

I think they add 3 dollars to everything here. That venti chai tea that you're used to paying 6 dollars will be 9 dollars. Daniel Island doesn't do much for me- BUT we do happen to be super close to it (5.2 miles) and it hosts the Family Circle Cup as well as tons of outside concerts at the stadium. Ah okay, NY Butcher Shop is over there. If you're looking to borrow the Pitboss smoker for a nice meal I do suggest a trip. I guess it does have some value.

The Battery is a landmark defensive seawall and promenade in Charleston, South Carolina. Named for a civil-war coastal defense artillery battery at the site, it stretches along the lower shores of the Charleston peninsula, bordered by the Ashley and Cooper Rivers, which meet here to form Charleston harbor. - Now don't go an pack a lunch and plan your do for some big historic adventure because then you'll be disappointed. I would grab those running shoes and your earbuds and plan a morning run. Looking at the sunrise or set while running this historic landmark really paints a good picture and sets the scene for you mental reflaction.
