An always-good restaurant on the Uptown edge of the Irish Channel. It's a relaxed and intimate spot with meals that will not disappoint. Great brunch even served on some weekdays, Thursday-Monday. As with all the good spots, they tend to get busy during busy times. Plan to be in a queue on the weekends, but worth the wait. Call ahead.

An Uptown favorite amongst locals and tourists, and one of my favorites. This spot has delicious New Orleans food (cajun/creole/soul) but usually has very long wait and you can't make reservations for parties less than 6. On a weekend night, the wait is ridiculous; so long that you end up extra tipsy by the time you make it to your table. However, drunk or not, when you get a table and eat the food, you will probably remember the meal for life. Great restaurant if you have the time to wait.
The Maple Leaf Bar is right next door, they have live music nightly.

This is not a restaurant, but if you're into healthy eating or have a restrictive diet, The Green Fork is a good place to visit. They have a large list of fresh juices and smoothies that they make fresh while you're waiting, and serve prepared soups, sandwiches, salads and snacks. Tell them Cool Aaron sent you; you probably won't get a discount, but you will be welcomed.

Awesome diner.A great brunch spot that many of the locals and traveler's enjoy. They have tasty diner dishes and a nice courtyard in the back that's nice to eat in if it's not blazing hot, or cold outside. They have awesome sweet potato pancakes. Great spot but they close early and may have a long queue on the weekend days, but not too bad a wait.

Another great breakfast / brunch spot, highly recommended. They have a variety of fresh juices and healthy eating options. They do French toast with French bread that is special. They close at 3pm and on weekend mornings will certainly have a line outside. Weekdays are usually not as busy.

A Caribbean Taqueria in the Garden District on Magazine Street. They have a jerk fish there that's really good and the tacos are on point. Frozen margaritas are delicious!

A local favorite Mexican eatery. They rarely disappoint with any of their dishes; reasonable prices and cool folks. When in season, their crawfish queso is like crack sauce (the regular queso is good too, and available year-round).
