There are so many nice beaches in Perth that it can be often difficult to pick and choose. Leighton beach is nice and quiet most of the time and has a nice green barbecue area behind the dunes.
There is a kiosk incase you get thirst form all the sand and salt and also public toilets in the surf life saving club.
It has only been built up this year with the development of large expensive apartments but this doesn't ruin the quiet ambience of the beach.
It's easily accessible from North Fremantle train station.
