Downtown Seaside offers lots of quaint shops, restaurants, and beach views from the turnaround at the end of Broadway. Tends to be very busy in the summer. The Carousel, hat shop and Big Top toys is always a fun excursion for the kids.

Gearhart/Seaside Beaches
Here are some of our favorite close beaches:
Closest: Gearhart Beach ( park at the end of Pacific Way, walk the trail to the beach ( about 1/4 mile) You can walk north or south, we find lots of interesting shells going north toward the estuary
The Cove: North side of Seaside; accessible at low/middle tide; the beach is very small at high tide. Best place to avoid crowds and side on a blanket; great for kids
12th Street Parking Lot beach:
Again, less crowds; 12th st at the end of the Prom in Seaside
The Tides Motel Beach Access: Easy path for a nice beach walk
