A classic, I love it, and easy to visit from the apartment, just take tram 7 (20 minutes) at stop Princesse Elisabeth and get out at stop Heizel.
You can have dinner in one of the globes, which is an amazing experience, the food is pricey but good.

Every morning there is an infamous flea market here. Especially on weekend days, people come here and in the neighbourhood of the marolles to stroll and visit second hand shops, and antiquaires.

This park is close to the Belgian institutions, and the palace of the king where he works during the day. I used to sit often next to the fountain when I came home from work. You can have food or drinks at Woodpecker and next to it lies KIOSK, an alternative radio with low key DJ's during the days/weekends.

At the heart of the Flemish quarter lies Sint-Kateleine pleine or Sint Cath. Have drinks at the Monk, go for seafood at Mer du Nord, have fries at fritkot Chouke (loads of vegeterian options!), amazing pastry at Charli. Walk past the shops and bars in the Vlaamsesteenweg, or the boutiques at the Rue Dansaert.

Go to the cute Parvis de Saint-Gilles for drinks, especially on sunny days the terraces are very lively. I used to live around the corner. My favourites bars are Le Verschueren or Brasserie de l'union (for beers not the food), Le Dillens a bit further. You can continue to the Park van Vorst, or have fries at the friterie de la Barrière, also one of my favourites. Or walk up by the small Pieter Paulus and Louis Morichar plein, and have drinks/food at café de la pompe, or buy Brussels best crevette croquettes at Fernand Obb Delicatessen. Pizza is good at Momo's pizza on the corner, or a bit further at Bottega de la pizza.

Châtelain lies next to Avenue Louise and is Brussels' little Paris with a blend of rich Eurocrats, and French people who all mingle in the many bars and restaurants. There is a nice market on Wednesday's evening, and small boutiques in Rue Baillie. I really love the cute The Tenbosch park.
