Florence is only a 1hour train ride away. Arriving into the heart of Florence and wander the streets. Visit the Duomo, Uffizi Art Gallery, great shopping, central markets upstairs for food finds, Boboli gardens, Piazzale Michelangelo and of course the wonderful Ponte vecchio. Great gelato just near there as well.

Lucca has everything. History, culture - Pucini concerts, or in July the Summer festival with International acts - book tickets online, great food and wine bars and the shopping is fabulous. This is the place to shop - easier than Florence.

Fabulous Cinque Terre with its picturesque 5 towns perched on the coast. Take the boat from La Spezia - its easier. Leave the car there. Then stop off at all the villages. Go to Billy's for lunch. Swim and hike the day away.
