Best chocolate croissant outside of France! This little bakery is adorable, and their goods are top notch. This bakery would hold it's own in the city up against all of the other "greats" no problem!
They also have sourdough bread which you can pick up and take back for meals at the house.

This is a great spot for a fast and easy meal. The bbq is delicious, the menu is simple, in a good way. They've got everything you need, and nothing you don't. And, it's only 5 minutes from the house! Note - they close for the winter beginning early November and typically reopen the beginning of April.

This fun little wine bar offers a lot of non-traditional wines. They often have unusual sparkling, orange wines and unfiltered by the glass. The owner also runs the wine shop in town, Upstream Wines and Spirits, so she sources all these fun and lesser known wines from her shop.
They offer some light bites but so not serve much food.

Please visit NY Dept of Environmental Conservation website if you search the forest name on your web browser. They have info on hiking trails, fishing, camping, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, hunting, trapping, and biking. The alltrails website also highlights 3 trails that take around 2.5 to 3 hours to complete. We have done a part of the Hodge Pond and Frick Pond Loop and enjoyed the hike. The path is very well marked and the pond was a beautiful spot to rest and even take a dip if warm out.

This is a fun hike that leads you to a fire tower at the peak. The tower itself is actually run by volunteers who will offer tours and teach you about the NY state fire tower system. If you’d like to you can climb the fire tower and see for miles and miles. It might not be for those afraid of heights but it’s worth the trek!
