The Canyon Kitchen is amazing. The drinks, the view, the food, great service. You can bring the whole family, or leave the kids for a romantic night out. The view of Cow mountain is breathtaking.

What to pack
Walking/hiking shoes
Even if you aren’t planning on doing a strenuous hike make sure your shoes have good treads or grip.
Getting around
Small town
Highlands is truly a small southern town with most shops closing between 5 & 6pm. So if you want to have a little retail therapy don’t wait till evening or you will miss out.
Traveling with kids

Visit the village green in cashiers, it’s close, there’s a small hike and awesome playground.
