Interesting small dinosaur museum that is at a quality that you would not expect in this small of a town. Portrays from the creationist scientific theory instead of the usual evolutionist.

Food scene
Los Amigos of Glendive
207 North Merrill AvenueFavorite place to eat in town for my friend from Brazil.
This coffee place is my favorite place to eat out as the food is good. Coffee shop drinks and also serves alcohol and has outdoor wine nights. Not to mention that it has greenhouses on property. A business you could place in any city or town and it would thrive.

Whipkey Park
Has a free splash pad. Good for hot days with kids.
Sand beach at this small small lake that is free to use. Nice option in the hot Summer to go swimming for Free. Some people fish and others bring a canoe, kayak, or paddle board. The local college does cardboard boat races here in the Fall as well.

Traveler advice
Getting around
Cars are best way to get around
Having a vehicle is basically a must to get to Glendive and to get around unless willing to walk which my family does on occasion.

Free gym and great view
Dawson Community College has their weight room, cardio room, and walking track open for free to anyone. Typically open 8am-5pm in the Summer M-F. Call 406-377-4200 to double check. You also have great view of the Badlands, Glendive, and Yellowstone river from the college which is located on top of a hill.

Disc golf courses in Glendive
There are two disc golf courses in Glendive. One is located in Forest Park and is free to play and is more family friendly. The other is in Makoshika state park and is free to play once you have paid your access to the park. This is a challenging course that is probably not as fun for a beginner but a blast for people who have played disc golf before. Unique course that locals and pros alike enjoy playing. There is an 18 hole or 9 hole pro that is within the same course at Makoshika. A second course in Makoshika is currently being planned. I will leave some discs out if you want to play.

The Attic
The Attic is the only thrift store in town. Monies go to the local hospital in a fund for purchases of medical equipment and other items. Lots of inventory moves through this store at low prices. My sons favorite store to go to so he can pick out a $.25 toy.

Hiking in Makoshika
There are some great hikes from short to long and easier to challenging in the State Park. Make certain to go into the park and up the switchback by hiking or driving for some great views. Stop at the parks visitor center to get a map of the trails and the park rangers will give you advice on must see places in the park.
