Sightseeing

Just off the main road going towards Callington on the right-hand side. The views across the Tamar valley are spectacular – you can see all the way to Plymouth and Dartmoor. Dogs are welcome off the lead and there is a beautiful Quarry should they love a swim! You will meet lots of other dogs and owners there.

Spectacular water falls. You will also find the Inkie's Smokehouse BBQ trailer parked up in the carpark there most days serving ice creams, drinks and of course, great charcoal grilled food.

Always busy, beautiful Looe has lots to see and do, plenty of independent shops and cafes. Park at the Millpond carpark and spend a few hours here.

National Trust just over the border in Devon, it’s a great walk - with White lady waterfall and The Devil’s cauldron to see on the way round. It can be tricky under foot in places so wear good walking shoes. Not recommended for small children or people with limited mobility, also buggies will not get around the full walk. There is a shorter walk for those with limited mobility or buggies –this will just take in the waterfall - well worth it.

Cafes with a view

Beautiful views, delicious crab sandwiches and if you're lucky, you can have one of the three beach hut tables, sheltered from any breezes. Lots of homemade baked goods and a good lunch menu and great coffee. Lovely place with unusual pinkish rock formations on the beach. The lane down is very narrow so take your time and watch for oncoming traffic.

Beaches

Widemouth Bay is very long open bay popular with families and surfers - and at low tide there are hundreds of rock pools to explore. Situated just 3 miles south of Bude and accessible along the South West coast path, Widemouth Bay offers fantastic conditions to learn surfing or body-boarding, which is why many of the local surf schools are based there. Viewing areas with free car parking are located at both the north and south end of the bay so you can enjoy the fantastic panorama without getting your feet sandy!

Our favourite, absolutely beautiful. Walk the coast path to nearby Sandymouth where there is a great little cafe.
