This sweet little coffee shop is one of our very favorite places in Asheville. Its located on tunnel road just a few short minutes from us. Its in a small stone castle looking building. At night they turn it into a fancy cocktail bar and feature some food options. Whether you want drinks, coffee, a cocktail, or dinner--this is THE place. Not be confused with the only place, just a very good one.

Dobra does not sell coffee! There are three locations to this chinese inspired Tea Shop but I chose the one closest to the Airbnb. There's also one downtown and in West Asheville. Apparently there are a lot Tea drinkers after all. Just a heads up a lot of the seating in the West AVL and Downtown location require you to take off your shoes. Not the best option when you're wearing Target flats. When you arrive they will hand you a dictionary sized tea list and a bell to ring when you've chosen a tea (or randomly guessed one to order.) This cool spot is named Pour for a reason. You go in and literally pour your own beers. Seems like a gimmick to save them the trouble of hiring waitresses? Don't be a downer, its fun.

This also has a location downtown that gives out FREE POPCORN. I would give you more reasons to go there but if free popcorn doesn't do the trick I don't think it would be a losing battle.

Green Man is not to be confused with the Blue Man Group. Two very different colors. Two very different associations.
This is also super close to popular BBQ place, Buxton Hall!

I know you won't believe this but they don't actually bury their beer. False advertisement at it's best. Note: they don't like it when you try burying their beer. Not even for a treasure hunt.

Handmade treasures. good for souvenirs! Nothing says "thank you for watching my cat while I was staying in the best airbnb ever" like a lamp from Africa. Actually, a lot of things say it better but lamps are nice.

This flower shop is a must stop go to if you enjoy house plants. If you don't enjoy house plants you should meet my husband. You already have more in common than we do.
Note: They also have coffee now and its really sweet and cute in there, green thumb or not. You just need a caffeine thumb.

Its no secret between my friends and family that I have more plants than any given person should own. When Im sitting outside I often think to myself "hm. Needs more plants." Nothing calms my frantic spirit like a trip to Roses. Im aware that there is also a department store called Roses. Don't go there. It is not what I'm describing and would be far less exciting. Unless you're my husband. Who hates houseplants. In that case you would be very excited.

Parks & Nature
This is less of a hike, more of a walk. less than a 5 minute drive and such a peaceful place to be. You follow the river through most of the trail. If you're as much of a maniac as I am a calming walk will do your heart some good.

This park is awesome. Its tricky to find because its hidden behind a weird warehouse. It has a figure 8 loop around the lake that equals a mile. It also attaches to the Warren Wilson hiking trail so its a great place to park and start the trail! Its a great place to run. Not that I do because I get winded on my way to the mailbox.

Sightseeing
This may seem like a strange suggestion but trust me, its worth it. The grove park inn is full of history and fun facts, its essentially a museum. You don't have to be a guest to enjoy seeing their gigantic fireplaces, delicious cocktails, or even getting a massage if you're into that kind of thing! (I recommend the hot coco if the weather is favorable). Its easy to spend an afternoon seeing the views at the grove park--inside and out. NOTE: I recommend the hot coco with the weather is also not favorable.
