Fort Myers Beach was severely damaged due to hurricane Ian but a lot of local bars and restaurants are opening back up and wanting tourists, as they survive on that. The beach itself has debris (nails and glass) so you probably will not want to swim here until 2024

We have been going here since the hurricane blew through and it’s cleaned up very nicely. It’s pretty crowded due to lack of beaches, so get there before 10am or after 1:30pm for the best chance at good parking in the parking garage
