I love this place for breakfast/lunch. It is an old nunnery. It's beautiful and the vibe is still casual and comfortable with an incredible menu of prepared from scratch items. There is plenty on the menu in the $10 range and there are some pricier items as well. The service is great, too. I always feel like they treat me like a millionaire in there. Favorites are their coffee, everything on their brunch menu, and the goat cheese with piloncillo.

This is a really fun and funky spot and great for celebrations. The menu is totally unique. Favorites are the twice fried crab fat chicken wings - they have almost like a hard candy shell on them! If you have a few people, ask for one of their booths. They're really cool. They're also open late night.

For a quick morning walk, this is a beautiful spot close by. Head South from the park on the mission reach section of the river to see the confluence of two rivers - the park's namesake. Read the plaques because there design of the park and the mission reach are very interesting.

I think it's about $10 for entrance, but it would be worth spending a whole morning or afternoon here learning about texas flora.

If you're looking to day trip for a good hike, this is my favorite nearby state park. Check out the falls and stop by blanco on the way for the real ale brewery. THere's great BBQ on the square in Blanco.
