Walhalla is one of our favourite places to visit in Gippsland. It is an hour and a half drive from our cottage and is an historic old gold town with many original buildings. Lots of very unique activities such as the Long tunnel Mine, the railway, the walk over the top of Walhalla, the cemetery. There are also good places to eat.

There are many wonderful rail trails in Gippsland but this is one of our favourites you can go from Bairnsdale to Orbost hundred kilometres or just pick and choose our favourite is Nicholson to Bruthen and back through picturesque farm country and of course coffee and lunch in Bruthen

Depart from Lakes entrance and explore the vast Gippsland Lakes, which is abundant in bird life, wildlife. There are several charter cruises to choose from sightseeing Tours, and also another cruise which stops for lunch at Metung. Recommend that you book 1st.
