This one is located in Chão da Ribeira (it belongs to Seixal village) and its good to eat our tradicional bread with garlic butter, beef grilled on a laurel spit with fried corn. And the place Chão da Ribeira just for it self its so gorgeous, with old traditional stone houses, this area also belongs to a natural reserve of Laurisilva by Unesco

There is a cable car that takes you down and you can enjoy a really beautiful walking there. It's better you take some water with you because there is no business there, I mean there is a bar before you get the cable car but sometimes it is closed so you can’t trust. And even when is open I don't recommend.

You can, stop the car in “Almirante Reis Park Car, at the old town, then pick up the teleferic to “Monte” (takes about 15min) the first starts at 9:00am and it costs 16€ round trip for each person. When you reach “Monte” you have a beautiful garden “Monte Palace Tropical Garden” , the ticket costs 12.50€ per person but they are gorgeous much nicer than the public ones.  You could also buy just one way to Monte by teleferic and then try our famous toboggan ride from Monte to Funchal. We never tried but it seems an adventure:) im not sure about the price but it’s is about 25€ a little bit expensive. It takes about 10min and you are back again to Funchal, have fun 😉.

One of the most famous places to taste the traditional "poncha" by locals, even though it is not my favourite. Nowadays there are already many places making good ponchas but I would recommend : Poncha Rancho do Vale (a pink building at the roundabout before the tunnel to São Vicente). The owner makes the poncha on that moment and it may take time, but the taste is worth it. My favourite there and the original one is just made of lemon.
