Beaches
Enjoy a day out at the beach at Sandbanks Provincial Park. Reservations are required in advance - make sure you book your day pass for entry!
Our favourites:
Dunes Beach - great for swimming and relaxing, especially for the family. Best on windy days when beaches facing Lake Ontario will have waves. Watch out for quick drop-off.
Outlet beach - enjoy long walks on the beach (literally!), making sandcastles, swimming in long, shallow water, and grabbing ice cream from the campground!
Lots of biking around the park, look for trail maps at park entrances for more info!

North Beach is about a 40 minute drive, located north of Wellington, and has two large beaches both great for the whole family. Reservations are still required, but sometimes easier to get than at Sandbanks! Be sure to pack water and food in advance, as there is less amenities close by.
