Guide des Quartiers
Pigalle's shady past is well long past. Although boulevard de clichy is paved with Sex Shops, they've basically become an attraction. Welcome to SoPi (South Pigalle), one of the coolest neighborhood in Paris. You should stroll around rue des martyrs (the south part beneath the boulevard especially), avenue Trudaine, rue Condorcet. They're great for shopping, cafes and restaurants.

That's classic, romantic Paris : that's Amélie Poulain, Sacré Coeur (look into its not so glorious history), An American in Paris. But it's also a great place to go shopping and stroll in the paved streets. Take a walk on rue Lepic, then Place des abesses, rue la vieuville and up and up and up. Enjoy.
