When I lived on the East Coast I’d choose one week in the summer to visit Milwaukee, it was a tough deciding between Summerfest and the State Fair, sometimes you just need to eat all the cream puffs!

Fun fact, I used to intern here in the exhibits and graphics department when I was 12-16 years old. You can see zebra muscles, invertebrates, and other things I painted in the first floor exhibits depicting the Milwaukee River and Montana. MPM is still one of my all time favorite museums.

It's a small museum showcasing wagons from The Great Circus Parade. Every summer from 1963-2009, these historic wagons would travel from Baraboo to Milwaukee by rail for the Circus and the parade. The parade itself is well known for its impressive 40 Horse Hitch of Clydesdale horses.

Hiking, biking, walking, running
Explore the Oak Leaf trail! Over 100 miles of paved trail that takes you through Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Washington Counties. I have walked, run, and biked on this trail MANY times. It brings you right down to the lakefront, through parks, to beer gardens, and South Beach in Bayview. I’ve even biked up to 85 miles of it in a day. It’s one of Milwaukee’s hidden treasures!

There is so much to do in the Dells! Indoor waterparks, outdoor waterparks, camping, sightseeing, and adventure!
The Dells are about a 2 hour drive and totally worth it.
Ride the Ducks, tour the Upper and Lower Dells by boat. Go to a waterpark or amusement park.
My personal favorite is Noah's Ark. I usually get a campsite nearby and spend a day on the slides.
There's plenty of hiking, and it's close to Baraboo, the home of the Circus Museum.
